How the vocal remover works
This tool uses Demucs, an AI music source separation model, to analyze a song and separate the human voice from the instrumental backing track. Upload a song, and the AI listens to the full mix and rebuilds two new tracks: one with only the instrumental (drums, bass, and everything else) and one with only the vocals.
Separation runs on a GPU in the cloud and typically takes 1 to 3 minutes depending on song length. The very first request after a period of inactivity may take a little longer while the model warms up — this is normal and only happens occasionally.
File limits
To keep processing fast and affordable, uploads are limited to 15 MB and 10 minutes of audio. Supported formats are MP3, WAV, FLAC, and OGG. For longer tracks, trim the file first and upload the section you want to process.
